NECOPS Members,

I am extremely happy to report that we have officially and legally changed our name from New England Coalition of Public Safety (NECOPS) to the American Coalition of Public Safety (ACOPS). This name change was presented to the NECOPS delegation at the National NECOPS Convention held last June and was voted on and approved by the delegation. Our strategic plan presented at the convention detailed and outlined the growth and future of the organization with the name change the most important.  We had hoped to make this name change sooner, however it was delayed as it took us longer than anticipated to secure the domain name of acops.org.  In the next few weeks our website will be updated, incorporating our new name and logo design. Our necops.org email has been shut down as we transfer to the new acops.org email.

The National Labor Relations Board is being updated with the name change for the NECOPS locals certified.

This past April touched all of us as we lost brother police officer, Sean Collier from the MIT Police Department.  ACOPS will be making a donation when the final plans are made for the Sean Collier Foundation.
