NECOPS Members,
I am extremely happy to report that we have officially and legally changed our name from New England Coalition of Public Safety (NECOPS) to the American Coalition of Public Safety (ACOPS). This name change was presented to the NECOPS delegation at the National NECOPS Convention held last June and was voted on and approved by the delegation.
N.E.C.O.P.S. is pleased to announce that Local 15 (University Circle, Ohio) has ratified a new Collective Bargaining Agreement! The Membership from Local 15 ratified the agreement, and the Executive Board and Chief Counsel Basil Mangano signed the agreement on Monday, February 4, 2013. Thank you to all of you that were involved in the negotiations.
The dedicated men and women of the University of New Haven Police Department voted in a secret ballot election conducted by the National Labor Relations Board today. The majority of those voting said "Union YES" as the New England Coalition of Public Safety was elected as the exclusive bargaining agent and representative by a vote of 13-8.
The New England Coalition of Public Safety has moved its headquarters to 67 Coddington Street, Suite 203, in Quincy, MA. All of our contact numbers have remained the same, so please update your records to reflect a change in our address.
